A delegation from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has started inspection tours in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania as part of preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which will be jointly hosted by the three East African nations.
The technical team arrived this week to evaluate key stadiums and training facilities, checking infrastructure, safety, and readiness to host one of Africa’s biggest football tournaments. The inspections are scheduled to run until February 17, 2026.

According to Sports Principal Secretary Elijah Mwangi, the inspections are designed to ensure that all facilities meet international standards and to guide necessary improvements before the tournament.
Regional Preparations Intensify
In Tanzania, CAF’s inspection team is touring stadiums in Dar es Salaam, Arusha, and Zanzibar. Meanwhile, in Uganda, key venues in Entebbe and Kampala are being assessed to ensure compliance with CAF requirements.
The inspections are part of CAF’s strategy to upgrade football infrastructure across the continent, ensuring world-class facilities and operational excellence for AFCON 2027.
